Around Pohénégamook Lake
Visitors can join this 15.5 miles trail from various locations: Frontière Park, Pohénégamook Outdoor Recreation and Health Spa or Pohénégamook Beach. Part of the circuit (4.5 miles) is on the Route des Frontières and crosses the communities of Saint-Éleuthère and Estcourt. We recommend two spectacular lookouts: one at the foot of the lake, near the Ponik sculpture, and the other in Frontière Park where you’ll read about the monster supposedly living in the lake. After the Pohénégamook Health Spa, the circuit turns into gravel and is surrounded by nature. The path then leads to the mouth of the lake and the beach. Beat summer heat by cooling off in the Pohénégamook Lake and then relax on the beach.

Listen to...silence, save for the occasional and unusual sound of the train whistling on the other side of the lake. Walking access at the foot of Long Lake (at the end of Chemin Brissette). Canoes and kayaks can also reach the path from the lake. Winter access to the islands by snowshoes

The Méruimticook Bike Path and Hiking Trail
The Méruimticook trail is located at the very south end of the Border Route, near the New-Brunswick border. While the last part of the circuit is relatively flat, with its vertical drops and challenging hills from the 2.5 km to the 8 km level and sharp descent leading to Packington’s municipal camping, this 18-mile long path is best suited for experienced hikers. Highlights: the Romain-Caron covered bridge in Saint-Jean-de-la-Lande. Visitors will discover the splendid region around Méruimticook Lake, also known as Jerry Lake. Need a rest? Go for a swim and stretch your legs at the Packington municipal beach. Restaurants, campground and public washrooms along the circuit. Main access: information tower at the 0 mile level of the Border Route.
